Rumicucho ANCIENT ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATORY OF WATER MIRRORS

There are several centers of astronomical observation , now regarded as archaeological sites in Abya Yala. Many of which remain unknown at home and abroad, either by the lack of information and above all these sites were never the subject of much less research study.

One of these archeological sites is Rumicucho, Rumicucho at first sight is a huge outcropping of limestone rocks, with strange rock formations. In this site are two natural caves and Pusa Kayma Kayma Salter.

The most outstanding of this archaeological site, is that there are large flat stones with hemispherical borings, approximately 100 meters distant from each other. Undoubtedly these borings were used as water bodies, to study and track the stars, at certain times. These lakes can be seen in the images.

Therefore, Rumicucho constitutes an ancient astronomical observatory, where Amautas all information recorded and this was relayed to use it in different aspects of production.

Rumicucho, is in the Community of Vila Ayllu Kollo in Bombo, about 40 minutes drive from Huanuni.
