Rumicucho ANCIENT ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATORY OF WATER MIRRORS

There are several centers of astronomical observation , now regarded as archaeological sites in Abya Yala. Many of which remain unknown at home and abroad, either by the lack of information and above all these sites were never the subject of much less research study.

One of these archeological sites is Rumicucho, Rumicucho at first sight is a huge outcropping of limestone rocks, with strange rock formations. In this site are two natural caves and Pusa Kayma Kayma Salter.

The most outstanding of this archaeological site, is that there are large flat stones with hemispherical borings, approximately 100 meters distant from each other. Undoubtedly these borings were used as water bodies, to study and track the stars, at certain times. These lakes can be seen in the images.

Therefore, Rumicucho constitutes an ancient astronomical observatory, where Amautas all information recorded and this was relayed to use it in different aspects of production.

Rumicucho, is in the Community of Vila Ayllu Kollo in Bombo, about 40 minutes drive from Huanuni.

CALA CALA and the cave paintings of 2500 years ago

Many indigenous communities, this Sept. 14 made a pilgrimage to what is now the sanctuary of the Lord Lagunas or Tata Lagunas. This shrine today is the focal point of several native sets (Sicuris, Lichiwayos, Jula Jula and others) that pilgrims from distant places including my community Pucara Grande, to receive the blessing of the Lord of Lagunas. Not only Indians, also of city dwellers who come to ask that their wishes become a reality, for this, reproduced in miniature the order, a house, a car and others, all this is done with faith to the Lord Lagunas.
around 2.5 km. of this shrine are the paintings that are older than 2500 years BC This indicates that Cala Cala (Qala Qala) was an ancient Ritual Center. Cave paintings that exist in this archaeological site, showing drawings of camels, even shown in the drawings, a white flame, a puma and men who drive fire.
These paintings constitute a legacy through her, we do know, that was a center Cala Cala ritual of great importance in raising the flames. Cala Cala by these features is in most Illa or Waka. Each Indian family that had a herd of llamas had an Illa, and this was the subject of ritual that calls for the Indian was a whole, since this animal provided meat, wool, oil, leather and fuel.

Through evangelization undertaken in the colony, establishing a church today entire pilgrimage is to this shrine. Today, devotees throng including indigenous to enter this sanctuary was forgotten the ritual center of their ancestors.

In the images shown represent a Jukumari the Andean bear, tissues of indigenous women today continue to amaze all and sundry. The Sanctuary of the Lord of Lagoons is located approximately 40 minutes by bus from the city of Oruro, today is connected by a paved road and a dirt road links from this shrine to the rock paintings.

With more detail on these paintings, their meaning and message, will focus on our blog ABYAYALENSE in Indian science:

GRANDE FIESTA ANCESTRAL EN PUCARA

This September 6 at Pucara Grande Community Festival is celebrated in devotion to the Virgin of Guadalupe. In 2008, they have 5 interns, three of the community of Pucara, this was unprecedented, never came to that number.
Each steward was accompanied by three bands of Sicuris of different communities in the province and the province Pantaleon Dalence Poopo.

This party is a party predominantly agricultural and its origin lost in time and space, as in pre-colonial times was held this event as the start of the planting and the arrival of Catholicism underwent a religious syncretism product, it now has become a Christian festival.

This festival attracts many visitors from all populations in the region, mainly the population of Huanuni For Pucara artist is considered the epicenter of the indigenous music of the sicuris. For its cheerful melody and dance rhythm is unmistakable, where you can hear the people identify with and relate to the Suras.

all share in this communal feast, each steward tries to overcome and overshadow the other interns, is a way to show their economic power and are striving for this goal. As a communal feast is shared with the community and she is rewarded for this qualifies as child of the community to their own community.
originating authorities were present at this event but not for fun, but as guardians of order, so that everything goes well and avoid disputes that may cause the contrapunteos among participating indigenous groups.

authorities retired to the host community, where we perform rituals for asking acullicar Andean deities that everything goes well and asking for blessing and prosperity for the interns and community integration.
